How Yukon Express Entry Stream Works

The following steps let you know how the Yukon Express Entry stream works:

1. Selecting a Foreign Worker

The employer can use Canada’s Job Bank to match with an eligible foreign worker. The employer can also offer a job to a foreign worker through the Yukon Program’s Express Entry stream.

2. Proving Eligibility

The employer must prove there are no qualified Canadians or PRs available for the position, and that’s why they are hiring. The foreign worker must meet the requirements of one of the three Express Entry programs.

3. Creating an Express Entry Profile

The international worker creates an Express Entry profile and enters the Express Entry pool. The foreign worker must show they have enough funds to support themselves (and their family).

4. Submitting the Application

The employer and foreign worker complete the Yukon Express Entry application and submit it along with the required documents. After that, the Yukon government reviews the application and supporting documents.

5. Invitation to Apply for PR

If the application is approved, the federal government invites the foreign worker to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

6. Finalizing Permanent Residence

The foreign worker submits any additional documents required by the federal government. The Yukon government works with federal authorities to verify the documents. If everything is in order, the international worker usually receives permanent residence within 6 months. This is because this stream is linked with the Express Entry system.
