The Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the 242nd Express Entry draw on Wednesday, 01 March 2023.
Draw number: 242
Draw Type: Provincial Nominee Program
Draw Date: 01.03.2023
Draw Day: Wednesday
Draw time: 17:24:39 UTC
ITAs issued: 667
CRS score cut-off: 748
IRCC holds the third consecutive targeted Express Entry draws for the PNP program. It issued 667 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score cut-off of 748 points or more. The latest 242nd Express Entry draw issued 32 ITAs less than the 241st round of invitations. The CRS cut-off had a significant decrease of 43 points. Since all Express Entry profiles with a provincial nomination get additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System, an applicant only needs to score 148 points to get an Invitation to Apply in the draws.
Express Entry draws in the last month
All the Express Entry draws in the last month are tabulated below.
Draw Number | Date of Draw | CRS cut-off | ITAs issued | Draw Type |
---|---|---|---|---|
241 | 15.02.2023 | 791 | 699 | Provincial Nominee Program |
240 | 02.02.2023 | 489 | 3300 | Federal Skilled Worker |
239 | 01.02.2023 | 733 | 893 | Provincial Nominee Program |
As we can see from the table, there were no all program draws in the month of February. An all program draw is one that issues Invitation to Apply (ITAs) to Express Entry profiles belonging to any of the 4 pathways:
An all program draw issues ITAs to the profiles with a CRS cut-off usually in the range of 500-400. However, a program specific targeted Express Entry draw has CRS cut-off depending on the Express Entry pathway it is for. For example, Express Entry rounds of invitations exclusively for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) will have a significantly higher CRS score cut-off. This is because the Express Entry profiles with a provincial nomination get additional 600 points by the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), thereby significantly increasing their average CRS score. The ITAs issued for PNP targeted Express Entry draws are also significantly lower. On the other hand, an Express Entry draw targeted for FSTP, CEC, or FSWP program will have a comparatively lower CRS score cut-off and will issue relatively higher number of ITAs.
Future of Express Entry draws
There have been no all program draws recently and this is a clear indication of significant changes about to take place in the Express Entry system. With the Bill C-19 about to get implemented, Express Entry draws will become more attuned to the labour market requirements of Canada. Needless to say, now is your best chance to create an Express Entry profile, be in the pool and get an ITA in the Express Entry draws.
