IRCC announced the year’s first category-based Express Entry draw 282 on Thursday, 1st February 2024. The latest round of invitations was the largest category-based selection, inviting as many as 7000 applicants to apply for Canada PR through Express Entry.

The latest Express Entry draw 282 was the first in February. Since it was a category-based selection, Express Entry profiles who received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) met the following conditions.
- They were eligible for one of the Express Entry pathways – FSWP, FSTP, or CEC.
- They scored NCLC 7 or more in their French language tests. IRCC accepts TEF and TCF for French language proficiency.
- The test was not older than 2 years.
- Their score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is equal to or greater than 365 points
- They had an active Express Entry profile in the pool

The latest Express Entry draw 282 had the lowest CRS cut-off and the highest ITAs for French language proficiency. The Francophone category is designated to increase the French-speaking population outside Quebec and invite the targeted permanent residents.
