The Latest Express Entry Draw: 227

The 227th Express Entry draw was held on Wednesday, July 20th, 2022 at 16:32:49 UTC. This all program draw was even larger than the previous one, with 1750 applicants being invited to apply for Canada PR through the Express Entry program. The lowest CRS cut-off was 542, 15 points lower than the previous cut-off of 557.

The 226th draw, held on Wednesday, 6th July, 2022 was the first all-program draw since 2020. An all program draw in Express Entry is the one that is held for all four programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Worker and the Provincial Nominee Program. Before 6th July, 2022, the Express Entry draws were only targeted for the Provincial Nominee Program. This was due to the debilitating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. ITAs could not be issued for foreign skilled workers or trade workers due to pandemic travel restrictions. Thus, draws for FSWP and FSTP were paused and the last all program draw was held on 23rd December, 2022. After that, draws were only held for the Canadian Experience Class and the Provincial Nominee Program.

Eventually, the round of invitations for Canadian Experience Class was also put on hold on 14th September 2021. Since then, only the Provincial Nominee Program was issued the ITAs in the Express Entry round of invitations. This was also the reason why the CRS cut-off had been constantly high during the previous draws. To get more insight on the latest Express Entry draw watch this video.

With the Express Entry finally resuming its all program draws, the CRS cut-off is also likely to return to it’s normal range in due course of time. As is evident from the latest Express Entry draw, the CRS cut off has been slightly lower than the previous draw that was held on 6th July, 2022. Moreover, for 2022, the Government of Canada aims to invite at least 55,900 skilled immigrants to beneficially contribute to it’s economy. Hence, the  draws are now expected to be all program draws with a slightly lower CRS cut off, making it the best time to be in the Express Entry pool.
