  1. Blue Cross
    2. A not-for-profit health benefits provider in Manitoba that offers a wide range of plans that covers all of your health needs, including ambulance, hospital, semi-private plan, dental plan, extended health benefits plan, health spending account, prescription drug plan, travel health plan, and vision care plan.
  2. Deferred salary leave plan
    3. The Deferred Salary Leave Plan (DSLP) is something that eligible employees of the Government of Manitoba (GOM) can use. The plan lets employees pay for their own leave of absence by letting the GOM set a percentage of the employee’s salary that is put into the DSLP and is not taxed until it is paid to the employee while they are on leave.
  3. Long Term Disability (LTD) Plan
    4. 70% of pre-disability wages, excluding allowances, premiums, and overtime, is the LTD Plan compensation. Departmental employees will get 70% of the average bi-weekly wages in 26 pay periods. 
  4.  Maternity and parental leave plan
    5. Maternity benefits are only offered to women who are pregnant or have recently had a baby and are unable to work. The recipient of maternity benefits may also qualify for parental benefits. A newborn or recently adopted child’s parents may be eligible for parental benefits.
  5. Pension and life insurance plan
    6. The Civil Service Superannuation Board (CSSB) is responsible for overseeing the administration of the Civil Service Superannuation Fund, the Public Service Group Insurance Fund, and any other plans that come within its domain.  You can find more information about pensions and life insurance at https://cssb.mb.ca/ 
  6. Workers’ compensation system
    7. The workers’ compensation system is an insurance program that covers workers and employers in the case of an accident or disability.   Manitoba is affordable and has the most diversified economy, with a low cost of living and plenty of opportunities for careers, education or to start a business.
