Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the 299th Express Entry draw on 2nd July 2024, Tuesday. This was a surprising draw as IRCC has once again held a PNP-specific draw and on top of that, the CRS cut-off was 739 points. This is the highest minimum CRS score requirement in any Express Entry draw in the year 2024.
As predicted, the future of CRS score seems like the draws will continue to keep issuing invitations to apply on higher CRS requirements.
The draw has invited 920 candidates, who must have had a Provincial Nominee certificate with them. The shocking aspect of this draw was that the CRS cut-off had never reached this pinnacle before. In all the draws of 2024, IRCC never required its candidates to score this much in any draw, not even for general draws.
Now that IRCC has conducted a program-specific of the week, it is safe to say that the next one will most likely be held on 3rd July, Wednesday. The next draw may be for general category, since there had been no draw for general since 23rd April 2024.
