Express Entry officially resumes its usual rounds of invitations. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has resumed invitations for the Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP) applicants after a very long hiatus of almost 18 months. The Canada Express Entry latest draw 2022 held on Wednesday 6th July, 2022 is an all-program draw that includes all three programs: Federal Skilled Workers Program, Canadian Experience Class (CEC), and the Federal Skilled Trades program. The Canada Express Entry latest draw 2022 marked the return of the all-program draws.
Federal Skilled Workers: applicable for eligible foreign workers with foreign work experience.
Canadian Experience Class: applicable for qualifying foreign skilled workers with Canadian work experience.
Federal Skilled Trades program: Skilled workers adept in a skilled trade that requires licensure or some certification.
Provincial Nominee Program: applicable for skilled workers with the provincial nomination from a Canadian Province. Till the year 2019, the Federal Skilled Workers program was the dominant program and received the majority of the ITAs in the Express Entry draw. IRCC had issued 85300 invitations out of which 45% belonged to the Federal Skilled Workers; 36% were issued to the Canadian Experience Class, and 18% belonged to the Provincial Nominee Program. Only 1% of the total ITAs were issued to the Federal Skilled Trades program. This can be better demonstrated by the chart below.

Impact of the Pandemic
The most popular Canada immigration program came to a sudden halt like the rest of the world due to the debilitating impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to travel restrictions and precautions, the Express Entry draws for Federal Skilled Workers and Federal Skilled Trades program were paused indefinitely. The last draw for all three programs was held on Wednesday, 23rd December, 2020. 5000 ITAs were issued and the CRS cut-off was 468.
The draws for the Canadian Experience Class continued till 2021 as most of these applicants were already in Canada and did not have to face much travel restrictions imposed due to the pandemic. The Express Entry draws for the CEC category were paused due to the continuously increasing backlog of applications. The last rounds of invitations for the CEC program were held on Tuesday, 14th September 2021. In this draw, 2000 ITAs were issued and the CRS cut off was 462 points.
Thus, from 15th September 2021 to 6th July, 2022, Express Entry draws were only held for the Provincial Nominee Program.

Expert’s analysis and speculations on Canada Express Entry latest draw 2022.
It is interesting to note that since the rounds of invitations were exclusively held for Provincial Nominee Program, the CRS score cut off for the previous year’s Express Entry draw was also on the higher side. The reason for a comparatively higher CRS score is that the applicants under the Provincial Nominee Program are awarded 600 additional points by the Comprehensive Ranking tool. Thus, candidates under this category automatically score higher. However, now that the Express Entry draws have resumed to issue ITAs to all three programs, the CRS cut off is also expected to settle to its previous range. A testimony to this welcome change is the Canada Express Entry latest draw 2022 that had a cut off of 557 points.
