The Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot (FMCSP) is a newly launched program by IRCC that will help students to stay in a French minority Communities (except for Quebec). International students can obtain a study permit through this program if they belong to one of the selected eligible countries and meet other requirements.
The program will be launched on 26th August 2024. FMCSP is not just a study permit program, it also offers eligible students an opportunity of Canada immigration.
FMCSP is set to invite more international students in French minority communities and promote linguistic diversity across Canada.

Eligibility Criteria for Francophone Minority Communities Study Pilot
Meet the following eligibility requirements to qualify for the Francophone Minority Communities Study Pilot (FMCSP):
- Have a letter of acceptance from a DLI that must confirm your application to FMCSP
- Meet financial resource requirements
- Must apply from outside Canada
- Meet French language requirements (score at least NCLC level 5)
- Must be a citizen of one of the following countries

Applicants of FMCSP may be able to bring their family members to Canada with them on a visitor visa or study visa or even an open work permit.
While the international student is studying at a DLI in Canada and they obtained the study permit through the FMCSP, they will be able to get settlement services. These services are generally provided to newcomers or new immigrants in Canada and their aim is to help individuals settle in the new country.
The Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot (FMCSP) will be a great way for students to obtain a study permit based on their language proficiency. French speaking students will have a special pathway to apply for a study permit and study in luxurious French-speaking regions in Canada.
