Express Entry 230th round of invitations took place as scheduled on Wednesday, 31.08.2022. It was the largest draw since 6th July, 2022 with the lowest CRS cut-off of 516 points. The draw was an all program draw, i.e, it included all four Express Entry pathways:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)– exclusively for eligible foreign skilled immigrants with foreign work experience.
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)- express entry pathway for foreign workers with experience in a skilled trade.
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC): pathway for foreign workers with eligible Canadian work experience.
- Provincial Nominee Program (PNP): express entry stream for eligible applicants nominated by a Canadian Province.
Since 2015, Express Entry program has been one of the most popular Canada immigration programs due to its fast PR processing time of just 6 months. The Express Entry draws or round of invitation are held to issue Invitation to Apply (ITAs) to immigrants with a CRS score equal to or higher than the cut-off.
The round of invitations were put on an indefinite hold due to travel restrictions imposed during COVID-19 . The last all program draw before the pandemic was held on 23rd December 2020, after which the draws were only conducted for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The CEC draws were also put on hold on 15th September 2021. It was on Wednesday, 6th July, 2022 that the Express Entry all program round of invitations were finally resumed.
Since then, 5 all program express entry draws have been held.

Deductions:
From the above data, following deductions can be made:
1. CRS is constantly declining: Since 6th July, 2022, the Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score has declined by 41 points. Additionally, the CRS score was drastically high before 6th July as the Express Entry draws were being exclusively held for Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP). The CRS score is predicted to consistently decline until it settles into its usual range.
2. ITAs are consistently increasing: With a slow but a regular decline in the CRS cut-off, there is a constant increase in the number of ITAs issued. The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) aims to clear the backlog caused due to the pandemic and invite as many eligible skilled workers to meet their ever increasing labor requirements. Since the ITAs issued on 6th July, 10,250 applicants have been invited to apply to the IRCC for Canada PR.
Prediction:
The next draw is likely to be held on Wednesday 14th September, 2022. It is highly likely to be an even larger draw with a lower CRS cut-off. Hence, this is the perfect time to create your Express Entry profile and enter into the pool.
