Express Entry Draw 229

The Biggest Express Entry Draw: 229th Round Of Invitation

Draw number: 229

Date: 17.08.2022

Time: 13:43:47 UTC

Type: All program draw

ITAs issued: 2,250

CRS cut-off: 525

The latest round of invitations or the Express Entry draw has been the biggest draw since 6th July, 2022, when Express Entry all program draws finally resumed after the pandemic. While the draw held on 6th July invited only 1500 immigrants with 557 CRS cut-off, the current draw has issued 2250 ITAs with a considerably lower CRS cut-off of 525 points.

This is the fourth draw since the all program draws resumed in Express Entry. Fortunately, the CRS cut- off has consistently declined since then, being 32 points lower than the first all program draw post pandemic.

The Express Entry is one of the fastest and most popular system for Canada immigration. It facilitates foreign skilled workers to immigrate to Canada through four pathways:

Once an eligible immigrant creates an Express Entry profile, he/she is assigned a CRS score based on the information provided in the profile. The Express Entry draws or rounds of invitations are held every alternative Wednesday and issue Invitation to Apply to the applicants with CRS score higher than the cut-off.

Thus, in the present scenario, if you’re in the Express Entry pool, you will get an ITA if your CRS score is higher than 525 points.

Once you receive an ITA, you will get 60 days to apply to  Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Canada PR.

The Express Draws were put on an indefinite pause due to the devastating impact of COVID-19. The Federal Skilled Worker Program and the Federal Skilled Trades Program were paused in 2020. The Canadian Experience Class was paused in 2021. Thus, since September 2021, the draws were being held only for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This was also the reason for the CRS cut-off to skyrocket.

Fortunately, the current scenario is extremely promising. The CRS cut-offs are slowly resuming their usual range and are highly likely to consistently decline in the upcoming draws. This is the best time to create an Express Entry profile and enter the Express Entry pool. In case you could not make it in the current draw, do not lose hope. An Express Entry profile stays valid for an entire year and there are many ways you can increase your chances of getting an ITA in that time period.

The IRCC aims to invite 55,900 skilled immigrants to meet their ever growing labor needs in 2022. With the new TEER system and Bill-19 getting introduced, your chances of getting an ITA are probably extremely high.
