IRCC announced the second consecutive program-specific draw after a month-long hiatus. In an interesting turn of events, the #297 Express Entry draw only invited candidates who were eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The latest draw had the highest CRS cut-off for CEC-specific selections. The CEC pathway is one of the three economic immigration programs that Express Entry manages. The other two programs are the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

The candidates who received an ITA in the latest #297 Express Entry draw met the following eligibility conditions:
- They were eligible for and were assigned the Canadian Experience Class program
- Have an active and updated Express Entry profile in the pool
- Ranked among the top 3000 candidates in the Express Entry pool
- Scored at least 522 out of 1200 points or higher in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
Who is eligible for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)?
To be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class, the candidate must:
- Have acquired Canadian work experience of at least one year in the last 3 years. The work must be under TEER level 0, 1, 2 or 3
- This Canadian work experience must be under a temporary resident status
- Score at least CLB or NCLC 7 in accepted language tests. (PTE-Core, IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, and TCF)
