Full Form of TOEFL

Is TOEFL accepted in Canada for PR?
Currently, TOEFL is not accepted in Canada for PR but this English test result can get you a study permit through the Student Direct Stream.

Is TOEFL accepted in Canada for a Study Visa?
Even if TOEFL is not accepted in Canada for immigration, one can take the test to prove language proficiency if they are applying through the Student Direct Stream (SDS).
You need at least 83 score in your TOEFL iBT test to be eligible for SDS.
Several Canadian universities and colleges accept TOEFL test results. Hence, if your wish is to study in Canada, get good marks in a TOEFL test and then you may apply for a study permit application.
The Student Direct Stream (SDS) processes study permit applications faster. By faster we mean, IRCC attempts to process applications within 20 calendar days. Also, the processing fee is not much either. Just for $150 (Canadian dollars), your study permit application may get processed within 20 calendar days.
Which language tests are accepted for Canada PR?
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) accepts the following language tests for Canada PR:
- CELPIP
- IELTS
- TCF Canada
- TEF Canada
English language tests are CELPIP and IELTS, while TCF and TEF are for French.
CELPIP
The full form of CELPIP is the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program. It’s a general English test that evaluates one’s ability to communicate in everyday English. One can take the CELPIP test for purposes such as immigration or vocational designation.
The fee of the CELPIP General test is $250, and let’s not forget that results are available within 4-5 calendar days of the test date.
IELTS
IELTS is short for International English Language Testing System and one of the most widely used English proficiency tests. The test evaluates one’s ability to speak, write, listen and read English.
IELTS is a 2 hours and 45 minutes long test and the fee of the IELTS test in Canada ranges between $309 to $335.
TCF
Test de Connaissance du Français (TCF) Canada is a test that evaluates one’s French language proficiency. TCF consists of the following sections:

- Listening comprehension
- Verbal skills
- Written skills
TEF
The Test d’évaluation de français (TEF) Canada consists of four main sections. These are:
