TOEFL About to be 1 Hour Shorter! New Changes Starting 26 July

TOEFL about to be 1 hour shorter starting 26 July 2023. Apart from this good news, test takers would also be able to receive the test results once the test is over.

If you wish to live in Canada, you have got to take a language test. These tests are mandatory since they prove your language skills. And when immigrating to another country, we do need to prove a couple of things, such as language, finances, and a clear criminal record.

What are the new changes?

Educational Testing Services (ETS) that conducts TOEFL, is set to make some new changes. Recently, the testing agency or organization announced that the duration of the test will become shorter.

This means that examinees won’t need to endure the test for three long hours, instead TOEFL will end in under two hours.

Don’t worry, the test timing will not affect your scores. Actually, the previous independent writing task of the test is now being replaced with ‘Writing for an Academic Discussion’ task. This new task is more modern, and easier to take.

The changes are not only just in the writing section, but also in the reading section. The previously lengthy section is now shorter since all the unscored test questions will be removed.

Besides this wonderful time change, those who take the test would be able to get the results once the test is complete.

On top of these changes, there is one more. Those who wish to take the test would be able to do so more easily starting July 2023. Test takers would be able to create an account to register themselves for a TOEFL test.

Benefits of the Changes

All these changes would definitely be helping the test takers get to take tests quicker.

Furthermore, people of Punjab would not have to worry about looking for test centers. ETS, the agency that conducts this test, is set to open 7 new test centers in Punjab for the people.

In addition, the customer service is about to get better, and Indian test takers would be able to see the test prices in Indian currency for the first time.

These changes are solely to better the test taker’s experience and to simplify the whole process for them.
