Dec 1, 2022 Canada released a benefits program for international workers. It helps Canada to engage and empower the massive number of international youth to work and travel in Canada. The honorable Sean Fraser minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada has launched the 2023 International Experience Canada Program to which 20% more applicants can apply.

Note: the applicant will be able to apply for this program from 9 Jan 2023.

The IEC program allows Canadian and international youth to work and travel in each other’s countries and it means that Canada can increase nearly 90,000 candidates to work and travel in Canada including Francophone youth which helps employers to maintain the labor gaps.

Canada supports their citizens and youth through the International Experience Canada Program (IEC). It helps youth living in Canada to explore new cultures, languages, and societies. The Canadian government always comes up with a new immigration program to make the immigration process so easy.

What is International Experience Canada?

International Experience Canada gives you the pathway by which you can travel and work in Canada. IEC encourages youth through this program for work and travel as well. Being a citizen of Canada this program allows you to explore more than 30 countries and territories with this program.  Benefits of taking part in  IEC:

  • By taking part in this program you will increase your work experience and career to the next level.
  • Your work experience helps you more while traveling to Canada and helps the Canadian government to develop a workforce in the economy.
  • International experience Canada has agreements with more than 30 countries and foreign territories.
  • These agreements are reciprocated which means it is easy for youth to travel from any country and territory in Canada.

The Honourable Sean Fraser, minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Said “Our government is helping more international youth to work and travel in Canada, effectively helping employers, most of those in the tourism industry, find the workers they need. By giving youth the opportunity of international travel and work experience, we are strengthening our economy and helping our businesses succeed, particularly in places like Banff that need seasonal help.”

The  Honourable Marci Ien, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth Said “International youth bring so much to our country. From building people-to-people ties to helping our businesses succeed, international youth add value to communities right across Canada. Today’s announcement will benefit sectors like the tourism industry, to find the workers they need to fill labor gaps all while providing youth the opportunity to explore Canadian cultures, languages, and societies.”
