The Canadian province of British Columbia held its latest rounds of PNP draws. Over 212 candidates received invitations under these rounds.
Latest BC PNP Draws – 21 Feb 2024
The draw was supposed to be held on 20th February 2024 as the provincial government is used to conducting them every Tuesday, however, this time, it was held on Wednesday, 21 February 2024.
Even if it was a day late, the draws still invited a little over 212 candidates from various occupations and categories. These were:
- The first round called for candidates from the general category.
- The following invited potential immigrants from healthcare, construction, childcare, and veterinary care.

British Columbia chose to send out most of the invitations to the childcare occupations. 70 candidates who met the requirements received an invitation from the province. The minimum points that they needed to score was 60 points.
The second most candidates were invited from the general category. 69 candidates, scoring at least 99 points received an invitation.
Apart from these, 41 candidates from the healthcare occupations, 32 candidates from the construction industry, and less than 5 candidates from the veterinary care received invites.
The minimum score required were:
- Healthcare, Childcare, Veterinary Care – 60 points
- Construction- 75 points
As for the next BC PNP draw, we can predict that it will most likely be held on 27th February 2024. These draws help the provincial economy flourish as a greater number of skilled workers can gain permanent residence there and work.
At its core, this is the objective of Provincial Nominee Programs, to help provinces and territories invite skilled workers to uplift the economy. PNPs are a means for provinces and territories to select candidates with adequate skills, work experience, education, etc.
Individuals either receive an invitation to apply for PR or are nominated which means they receive an additional 600 CRS points. Either way, PNPs help candidates settle in a Canadian province or territory and improve their living standards.
