When your permanent residence for Canada gets accepted, you will also receive a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR). This Confirmation of Permanent Residence has a validity period of 1 year. Between this one year, you can move to Canada any time you like. However, you must keep in mind that this time period is only one year. So, make sure that you immigrate to Canada before the expiry date of your CoPR. 

In case there are family members dependent on you, and they are also included in your PR application, then they must also immigrate to Canada before the CoPR documents expires. Moreover, you need to move to the country either before the dependent members or at the same time as them.

CoPR validity depends on…

The validity of the CoPR actually depends on the time of your medical exam results. Since, medical results have a validity of one year, CoPRs also have the same validity. Once your permanent residence application is approved, you will receive a CoPR visa. 

Now for instance, if your medical exam result is expiring in November, 2023, then your CoPR will also expire in November, 2023. Furthermore, if your passport is expiring before your medical results, then your CoPR will expire according to your passport.
