What are the visa rules changes?
The Australian government has announced some changes to bring in Indians students into the country more easily. Moreover, Australia is planning on making some more changes to expedite the path to permanent residency.
The government of Australia has further said that the visa process will become available easily for highly skilled workers. Moreover, steps will be taken to make it easier for international students to come to Australia.
Further in this news, those who were previously not able to apply for Australian permanent residency, will now be able to do so. This change will happen by the end of 2023.
Further details on this
Last year, Australia raised the numbers of permanent immigrants by 35,000. Why? Because it was facing a widespread staff shortage.
Now, international students in Australia would be able to work for 48 hours per fortnight, and they would even receive a 2-year extension on their visas starting 1st July, 2023.
This means that a student can work for only 48 hours every 2 weeks. These working restrictions are put in place so that students won’t use their study visa only for working and would actually study in Australia.
On this, one must understand that those working in the aged care sector would still continue to work unrestricted hours up until 31st Dec, 2023.
