On Dec 19, 2022 In Ottawa, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) minister, The honorable Sean Fraser has marked the progress of Canada Immigration that has been made this year. Over 4.8 Million applications processed this year in November. IRCC reduced the backlogs of applications that have been in IRCC’s bags beyond its service standards. 

Immigration Becomes very crucial to Canada’s economy and communities in Pandemic Indeed. But as we all know immigration is a large part of Canadians’ identities. Through Immigration, newcomers helped build Canada’s economy when they battled with the Pandemic.and that’s why immigration remains key to Canada’s Success. IRCC is going with full flow to strengthen Canada’s immigration system by reducing processing timing and modernizing its services so that they work better for everyone.

What are the processing records of Canada Immigration 2022?

Till August, The IRCC recorded its overall inventory of nearly half a million applications. It has also been setting the immigration bars higher for processing.

At the end of November, IRCC processed almost 4.8 million applications which is twice the 2.5 million processed during the same period last year. 

IRCC has digitized the applications, hired and trained new employees, streamlined the processes and harnessed automation technologies to strengthen the immigration system. This change in system increases processing efficiency while protecting the safety and security of Canadians. The IRCC department is still on track to meet its goal to process 80% of fresh applications.

Record for Temporary Residence of Canada Immigration 2022

On 30 November, 2022, IRCC cracked the aim and processed over 67,000 study permits as compared to last year at the same time. Last year 500,000 study permits were issued, these efforts make new study permits which are processed within the 60 days service standard. 

For work Permit, nearly 700,000 work permits are processed by November 30 as compared to 2019. 223,000 work permits were issued in 2019, that is before the pandemic. On a monthly basis, Canada processed more Visitor Visa applications than in the pandemic. 260,000 Visitors visas were processed alone in November.

What is the record of Permanent resident in Canada Immigration 2022?

In 2022, Canada welcomed 431,000 new Permanent Residents. It surpassed the previous record from 1913. Canada also broke the record for Permanent Resident in 2021, as they welcomed almost 405,000 permanent residents. 

This is because of the continuous modernity support and adding support for Permanent residents to serve the candidates. These efforts make all new Spousal Sponsorship applications being processed within the pre-pandemic service of 12 months and new Express Entry Applications within 6 months. 

Through the modernity services Permanent Residents can also expect a shorter wait time in renewing their Permanent residents cards as IRCC has reduced 99% of the backlog of applications for card Renewal.

What is the expected record of Citizenship in Canada Immigration 2022-2023?

Being the highest naturalization rate in the world, Canada encourages all newcomers to end the journey by becoming Canadian Citizens. IRCC expects a new number of records for Canadian citizens in 2022-2023. Almost 251,000 new citizens are targeted to welcome from April to November.
