Parents and Grandparents Program Lottery

Canada has started the lottery for Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) as of 10th October, 2023. This will go on till 23rd October, 2023.

In this time period, IRCC will send out invitations to apply (ITAs) to potential sponsors who are interested in sponsoring their parents and grandparents. From where are these sponsors selected? Actually, these sponsors are already in the pool of submissions of eligible sponsors from 2020.

In simple terms, who submitted an interest to sponsor form back in 2020, but haven’t received any invitation to apply since then, they might now receive one. So, if you have been waiting to see an ITA in your email, make sure you check your account from time to time these days. IRCC might send you an invitation to apply for sponsorship soon. Out of the 24,200 ITAs that will be sent out to randomly selected potential sponsors, IRCC’s aim is to approve 15,000 complete applications.
