Express Entry Draws: Annual Report- 2021

Recently, the annual report of 2021 on Express Entry was released. This report lets us know many things regarding the matter. In addition, Express Entry is an immigration pathway for foreign skilled workers wanting to get a Canadian PR or a permanent resident.

In the whole of the year, under this immigration program the Canadian Government gave a total of 114,431 ITAs or Invitations to Apply.

These ITAs have a chance to grab Canadian PR. Out of all, only 155,810 individuals gained permanent residency. The number of people who gained Canadian permanent residency also included principal applicants and the accompanying family members with them too.

Did you know that the IRCC paused Express Entry invitations to apply on 20 September, 2021 for all Federal High Skilled immigration programs? This included immigrants coming from CEC, FSWP, FSTP. Therefore, IRCC did not invite any candidates from FSWP and FSTP in the year of 2021. On the other side, the CEC draws were put on hold too. For the rest of the year, only PNP draws were to take place on a bi-weekly basis.

Comparison between Annual Report of 2020

As compared to 2020, in 2021 IRCC received 23% more Express Entry profiles. In 2021, IRCC received a total of 443,00 Express Entry profiles. But this does not mean that all of them were eligible. While around 74% of the candidates were eligible, 26% of candidates were not. 74% of the eligible candidates could apply for at least one Express Entry program.

If we take up these percentages in gender consideration, out of the total, 77% were women. On the other hand, 71% of them were men.

Almost all of these people in the Express Entry pool received a good CRS score. Most of the time it was somewhere between 351 and 400.

CRS scores or Comprehensive Ranking System scores rank candidates. Ranking is necessary so that the eligible candidates are found.

If the program is a PNP specific draw, then the CRS cut-off scores fell between 682 points to 813 points. However, if the program is a CEC specific draw, then the range was between 75 and 462 points.

What is Express Entry Draws?

Moreover, back in 2015, Express Entry came around. It has three different programs. First is CEC, the Canadian Experience Class, second FSWP, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, and then third is FSTP, the Federal Skilled Trades Program.
