Nova Scotia’s new stream called Labour Market Priorities conducted its first round of invitations on Wednesday, 8th of August. The province primarily focused on those Express Entry candidates who are having an eligible work experience as early childhood educator and assistant.
Total of 314 total candidates were invited from the Express Entry Pool (Federal Skilled Worker Program Stream) who are having at least two years of work experience in a Job profile (Code: 4214) mentioned in NOC (National Occupation Code) list.
In this draw, no Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS) were considered and selection was made purely on the basis of years of experience in the Job profile code number 4214.
The province of Nova Scotia issues Letter of Interest to selected candidates. The candidates then are given 30 days’ time period to revert by submitting a complete application to Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities Stream:
The announcement to introduce Labour Market Priorities Stream is made by Nova Scotia on 2nd of August. The main intention behind introduction of Labour Market Priorities Stream is to invite those Express Entry candidates who meet “market-identified labour shortages” to apply for a provincial nomination.
The stream only considers Express Entry candidates from the pool who have filed their applications under EE streams of Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC). Upon receiving nomination from Nova Scotia, a candidate becomes eligible to claim 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking Score (CRS). The additional scores of CRS increase the chances of getting the PR from India.
It is very imperative to file your Express Entry first to successfully receive nomination from the province. Also, since only 30 days’ time span is allowed to file your application with Nova Scotia, candidates need to be really proactive with the documents & other requirements.

According to official immigration spokesperson of Nova Scotia, ‘’Attracting and retaining skilled workers will help increase access to important services such as Early Childhood Education, while helping grow our population. This will strengthen our communities and our provincial economy — benefiting all Nova Scotians.” The official further said that this stream is flexible enough to run on Nova Scotia’s labour needs.
Nova Scotia has always been a popular choice among immigration seekers. The subtle lifestyle of the province has been its backbone from the time immemorial. The new stream is a good example of how Nova Scotia is innovating and fine-tuning its use of Federal Express Entry Stream.
