Sean Fraser, the IRCC Minister announced a new immigration pathway in the most recent speech given at the Empire Club of Canada. Recently the immigrants population in Canada has been growing and due to that the population of Canada is growing as well.
The new immigration pathway will benefit job seekers in Canada. The minister announced Economic Mobility Pathway Pilot (EMPP) for immigration. As per the latest report, the EMPP program allows employers in Canada to fill vacancies that will ease the immigration process due to job offers.
The new immigration pathway- EMPP will be opening the door for individuals to get jobs and settle in Canada in an obstacle-free way. Because of this new pathway, people will be able to get jobs as support workers, long-term aides, software engineers, web designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and technicians. In addition, Job seekers interested in the field of education, tourism and hospitality, and delivery will get the opportunity to explore Canada. EMPP is the joint program of refugee resettlement and economic immigration.

The speech that Minister Sear Fraser will be delivering is entitled “Addressing Canada’s Labour Shortages.” This speech will also be live streamed on YouTube as he will be delivering it at the Empire Club of Canada in Toronto.
From the speech’s title, we can figure out which issue will the Immigration Minister be addressing. Obviously, it’s going to be about the labor needs of the Canadian market. Moreover, this new immigration pathway is set to help fill in the workers’ needs as the country would be able to invite even more immigrants via this new pathway.
Canada Invites Immigration
IRCC or the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada is aiming to invite 465,000 new immigrants in 2023 and give them permanent residency too. The immigration plans are to invite 485,000 immigrants in 2024 and around 500,000 in 2025 alone. Now, in order to invite so many newcomers in just a few years, the nation surely needs to think of new ways.
If we see how many people Canada has been inviting over the years, we can see that the main growth in the population of Canada has been because of skilled workers, foreign students, and permanent residents.

One of the leading economic class pathways is PNP or the Provincial Nominee Program. However, the Express Entry is the main federal pathway. Recently, Express Entry invited 14,000 candidates over the last two rounds of draws.
