Express Entry: First PNP draw of 2021 issues 250 ITAs

Express Entry First PNP draw of 2021 issues 250 ITAs

Canada entered 2021 by issuing invitations on January 6 to Express Entry candidates who have provincial nominations. Candidates who had a minimum score of 813 were invited by Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Candidates who have earned nominations from an Express Entry-aligned Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs) are automatically awarded 600 points to their final CRS score, which is why the score threshold compared to other invitation rounds is comparatively high. To become Canadian permanent residents, the 250 invited candidates can now officially apply.

For three federal visa program: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience ClassExpress Entry is Canada’s application management system. A score based on the Comprehensive Ranking System is given to candidates in those programmes, as well as certain PNPs. (CRS). (CRS). These points are awarded depending on the human capital factors of the primary candidate. Factors such as age, education, work experience, and English or French language abilities are responsible for the final CRS score.

An individual, or a couple, may be awarded with the points. While candidates for Express Entry do not need to have any experience or even a job offer in Canada, it can give them some additional points..

An Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency is obtained by the highest-scoring candidates via frequent invitation rounds for Express Entry. Once they apply, IRCC will then take a final decision on their immigration application and, if their application is successful, offer them a Permanent Residency Confirmation. For approved permanent residents, the last move is to land in Canada and apply for a PR card. They have officially immigrated to Canada at this stage, and can ultimately qualify for citizenship.

Toward the end of 2020, CRS cut-off scores fell marginally. This may be because IRCC began having bigger draws, which meant that more of the top-scoring candidates from the Express Entry pool were invited.

The tie-breaking rule is enforced by the IRCC in the event of a tie between candidates. In the last draw, in order to obtain an invitation, candidates who had a CRS score of 469 or more had to apply their Express Entry profile before November 2, 2020 at 11:11:52 UTC.

2020 was a record-breaking year for Express Entry, in spite of the coronavirus pandemic. By the end, 108,350 ITAs were issued by Canada to Express Entry candidates. As the IRCC has increased immigration targets to make up for the decreased number of new permanent residents admitted to Canada last year, 2021 is anticipated to be an even bigger year.

Next year, Canada is expected to accept 401,000 new immigrants, of which 108,500 are expected to come through programs managed by Express Entry. It is projected that these goals will rise over the next three years to 110,500 in 2022 and 113,750 in 2023.
