British Columbia held a new Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw inviting for 87 candidates on June 9 to apply for a provincial nomination.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) had invited candidates of immigration to apply from the categories Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration.
For each category the minimum requirement for provincial score was 82.
In order to receive an invitation, candidates must have profiles in the federal express entry system through the category Express Entry BC. Express Entry is the application management system operated by the federal government. Express Entry candidates are granted points dependent on criteria of human capital such as age, work experience, education and English or French language proficiency.
Candidates receiving a provincial nomination are guaranteed to receive an additional 600 CRS points for a subsequent federal express entry draw and are effectively ensured to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in Canada.
B.C. recently announced that it will extend its Tech Pilot until June 2021 for another year. The pilot allows international software employees in one of 29 jobs to get a job offer. The job offer must be a total of one year long and at the time the candidate submits their application to B.C, there must be at least 120 days remaining in the job offer.
