On 26 August, Ontario welcomed 703 Express Entry candidates with a work experience in selected occupations.
For this round of invitations, Express entry candidates required a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 466 and 475. If the nomination is successful, an extra 600 CRS points would be immediately awarded to them, meaning that they obtain an opportunity to qualify for a subsequent express draw. This applies to successful Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) candidates.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) invited candidates to qualify for a provincial nomination – provided they had work experience in one of the below-mentioned occupations:
– Financial managers NOC 0111
– Advertising, marketing and public relations managers NOC 0124
– Corporate sales managers NOC 0601
– Financial auditors and accountants NOC 1111
– Other financial officers NOC 1114
– Professional occupations in business management consulting NOC 1122
– Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses NOC 3012
– Allied primary health practitioners NOC 3124
– Dieticians and nutritionists NOC 3132
Candidates must participate in the Human Capital Priorities Stream and have at least one year of experience in one of the occupations mentioned above in order to be approved by the provincial government. From the last 5 years since the application, the work experience must have been gained. It may have been acquired either in Canada or overseas so they needed to be “continuous” ensuring no work break for more than one year. It is acceptable to have back-to – back jobs in the same job, but with same occupation.
The occupation of the applicant who qualified it for an invitation from Ontario must be the same primary occupation as the applicant in his Express Entry profile.
Express Entry is a management system for three federal visa programmes: Federal Skilled Workers Program (FSWP), Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Express Entry candidates earn a CRS score that scores them on the basis of age, work experience, education and language skills in French or English. Regular Express Entry draws then invite the highest-score candidates.
In the Express Entry Pool the OINP searches for candidates who can satisfy their immigration criteria.
This year, 7,600 immigration applicants were invited by the Federal Government through OINP. This number involves 250 nominations for temporary workers in NOC Skill Level C.
Express entry candidates were more than half of Ontario’s 7,391 PNP applicants in 2019.
