62 Immigration candidates with tech skills invited by British Columbia

On July 21, the province of British Columbia issued 62 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination to the candidates for BC PNP Tech Pilot.

The BC PNP Tech Pilot offers a fast-track immigration pathway for tech workers and international students that are in demand.

All Tech Pilot candidates invited by the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) are expected to provide a job offer in one of the 29 in-demand occupations of the pilot that is at least one year (365 days) long.

The July 21 draw witnessed invitations from the Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration streams to candidates in the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories. In all subcategories, chosen candidates required a minimum provincial score of 80.

Candidates listed in the categories Express Entry BC would be awarded an additional 600 points to their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) if their provincial application for nomination is approved. These points essentially secure an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent Canadian residency at a corresponding federal Express Entry draw.

Once a provincial nomination is given by British Columbia, the rest of the candidates invited under the Skills Immigration category will have applications for Canadian permanent residency processed directly by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Any individual interested in immigrating via the BC PNP categories into British Columbia will begin the process by developing an online BC PNP profile. However, only candidates in the BC PNP ‘s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) are eligible to apply for a score in the Skilled Worker, Entry Level and Semi-Skilled, and International Graduates categories.
