“So Far in 2021, B.C Has Now Issued 6,667 Invitations to Apply for Provincial Nomination.”
On July 27, 59 Immigration candidates who work in key technology occupations were invited by B.C to apply for a provincial nomination.
The new invitations were issued under the BC PNP Tech – which is a subsidiary of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).
Candidates invited in this draw must meet the requirements of one of British Columbia’s Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories – managed by the Skills and Immigration Registration System (SIRS).
Also, those who received invitations in this draw were from Skilled Workers and International Graduate subcategories. The minimum provincial score needed was 80.
Candidates have 30 calendar days to apply for the nomination.
What Is the BC Pnp Tech Program?
Launched in May 2017, the BC PNP Tech is a pilot project that follows a “labour market study” that found the biggest issue facing B.C.’s technology sector was access to new talent. Seeing the program reach new heights, the province of British Columbia recently announced that it would become a permanent program.
The BC PNP Tech Program is designed for in-demand international students and tech workers. In order to qualify for this stream, candidates need to be registered under one of B.C.’s existing provincial immigration streams – and have a valid job offer of at least 12 months in one of the 29 eligible occupations mentioned in the NOC code list.
Job offers under the BC PNP Tech must be for a minimum of one year, with at least 120 days remaining at the time of application to the BC PNP. Also, it should be a valid job offer and from an eligible employer residing in the province.
Top-scoring candidates who meet the eligibility requirements are sent out invitations through the province’s tech program – weekly. Most tech applications are processed within two to three months.
Once approved, candidates will receive a nomination confirmation – which they can use to apply for permanent residency under the Provincial Nominee Program Class.
