A further 600 points over their original human capital score will be awarded to the candidates to those Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in the Express Entry Pool. For that reason, the minimum score requirement for the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) was 757 for this draw. The invited candidates would have had a human capital score of 157 without the additional points obtained through a provincial nomination.
It is the 6th PNP from the Federal Express Entry System even since specific coronavirus measures were introduced on 18 March. Canada has alternately arranged Express Entry draws for PNP and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates.
Generally, CRS cut-offs for draws targeted at CEC candidates are considerably lower. The previous CEC draw invited candidates with at least 447 CRS scores, which has been the lowest requirement since January 2019.
This draw was premised on a rule of tie-break. All candidates who submitted their profile at 10:19:01 UTC before 27 April 2020 with a CRS score of at least 757 were issued an ITA within this round.
Dates for these draws have become even more unforeseeable. Every FSWP (Federal Skilled Trade Program) and the CEC draw were held in every two weeks – earlier this year. With the targeted draws held by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), draws may now happen days or hours apart.
In this regard, immigration targets are expected to surpass the amount of last year. There were already more ITAs released this year following the implementation of travel restrictions – than in 2019 at the same time. As of today, a total of 37,585 Express Entry candidates were invited to apply in for Canadian permanent residency in 2020.
