The largest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw since late March was organized by British Columbia on June 2.
In the areas Express Entry BC (EEBC) and Skills Immigration, a total of 241 Skilled Worker and International Graduate candidates received invitations to apply. For candidates the minimum score required ranged by category. For Express Entry BC subcategories, the cut-off score was:
- Skilled Worker: 105
- International Graduate: 105
These candidates needed to have profiles already submitted under the Express Entry system of Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada. Upon their invitation to apply for a provincial nomination by B.C., eligible candidates would receive an extra 600 CRS points, which essentially guarantees the permanent residency in IRCC Express Entry Program to be granted an Invitation to Apply (ITA). The cut-off score for the three subcategories of Skills Immigration were:
– Skilled Worker: 105
– International Graduate: 105
– Entry Level and Semi-Skilled: 81
The British Columbia government had indicated that coronavirus has an effect on the draw. As it unfolded over the past few months, several sales and service occupations were excluded from the draw by the provincial government.

Entrepreneur Streams
B.C. in the first time in almost two months, candidates were also invited to the entrepreneurs’ stream. There were two draws conducted in what became the province’s sixth and seventh entrepreneur draws in 2020.
Under the BC PNP Base Group of Entrepreneur Immigration, a total of 29 invitations were issued. The cut-off score was 121. Base Category’s purpose is to invite established entrepreneurs who either want to start a business or take over one. Candidates are evaluated on the basis of factors such as their business experience, net worth, education, business plan as well as how much investment they intend to make.
B.C. also issued 9 invitations to Entrepreneur Immigration — Regional Pilot candidates with a minimum score of 118 points.
The goal of the pilot, launched in 2019, is to inspire immigrant entrepreneurs to build a new existence in the province’s smaller communities. Candidates are evaluated on factors identical to the base category, although there are several different requirements, such as lower net worth and minimum investment thresholds.
This round of draw was BC’s largest since it invited 311 candidates in the March 30 draw.
