243 Candidates invited in the latest BC PNP draw

“THE BC PNP WAS ESTABLISHED TO ATTRACT FOREIGN WORKERS IN HIGH-DEMAND SEEKING PERMANENT RESIDENCY.”

On December 21, 243 immigration candidates were invited through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program.

The province held two draws through the BC PNP – and invited candidates from the Skills Immigration (SI) and the Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams. Invited candidates were issued invitations from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry Level & Semi-Skilled sub categories.

A total of 194 invitations were sent through a general draw. Candidates received invitations if they met the minimum score requirements between 74 and 106 points. Depending on the program for which they qualify.

Candidates whose occupation falls under the NOC 0621 (retail & wholesale trade managers) or NOC 0631 (restaurant & food service managers) – were also targeted in another draw. This specific draw resulted in 49 issuing 49 invites to candidate with minimum scores of 106 across the board.

As part of its PNP program, British Columbia has been conducting separate draws twice a month since last February. These draws are being conducted due to the high number of candidates. Particularly labor market sectors. All of them being registered in the province’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

11,500 invitations were issued through various BC PNP streams in the year 2021.

About The Bc Pnp

The BC PNP targets to welcome foreign nationals who are in high demand in the province – who wish to obtain permanent residency in Canada.

There are two key immigration streams in the BC PNP – Skills Immigration and Express Entry. Both the SI and EEBC are managed under B.C.’s Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS). In order to qualify though the SIRS – candidates first need to create an account. Once this is done, candidates are assigned a score based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language skills.

The highest-scoring candidates are then invited to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residency. This is done by the province through one of its frequent draws.

Once a candidate receives an Invitation to Apply (ITA), they will have 30 days from the date of ITA issued – to submit a complete application through BC PNP online system. Candidate are usually notified of the province’s decision within 2-3 months.

Upon receiving nomination, they become eligible to apply to IRCC for permanent residency status under the Provincial Nominee Program class. A provincial nomination is valid for a duration of 6 months from the date of confirmation.

Candidates also receive additional 600 points under the CRS as a provincial nominee. Due to the high CRS score – an invitation is effectively guaranteed in the subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
