A total of 237 aspiring immigrating candidates were invited to apply for a British Columbia provincial nomination on the 7 May draw.
The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) has invited candidates through the streams of Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration.
Requirements for provincial score varied as per the subcategory. The two subcategories included in the draw under the Express Entry B.C stream were:
– Skilled Worker, which required a provincial score of 108; and
– International Graduate, which required a provincial score of 106.
The federal Express Entry system had valid profiles for certain candidates. If they successfully received the provincial nomination they will be essentially guaranteed to obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a Federal Express Entry draw for Canadian permanent residency.
The Skills Immigration stream included three subcategories, such as:
– Skilled Worker, which required a provincial score of 102;
– International Graduate, which required a provincial score of 106; and
– Entry-Level and Semi-skilled, which required a provincial score of 83.
The impact of coronavirus on B.C businesses had affected this invitation round. The draw didn’t include a number of sales and service occupations.
Everyone that has received an invitation to apply now have up to 30 calendar days from the day they received their invitation – to submit a complete provincial nomination application to the BC PNP.
