NS Critical Construction Worker Pilot Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for Nova Scotia’s Critical Construction Worker Pilot stream are:
- The applicant’s age should be between the range of 21 to 55 years
- They must have studied high school. In case they haven’t, they must prove that they have completed a training course related to the construction industry.
- The applicant needs a year’s worth of work experience in the job they have been offered
- They must be financially able to move to Nova Scotia and sustain themselves and their dependents
- The applicant must score
- CLB level 5 – if the job offer is in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3
- CLB level 4 – if the offer is in NOC TEER 4 or 5
- Most importantly, the applicant must have a job offer in any one of the following occupations

Documents Required for Critical Construction Worker Pilot
You need some of the following documents when moving to Nova Scotia through the Critical Construction Worker Pilot stream.

- High school diploma or construction-industry specific training certificate
- Language test results
- Passport
- Marriage certificate

There might be more documents than the ones listed above. Further, you don’t need all the documents aforementioned to apply for nomination. However, all the documents must still be in English or French language. In case they are not, get the documents translated.
Critical Construction Worker Pilot: Application Process
Follow these steps to apply to the Nova Scotia Critical Construction Worker Pilot stream:
Step 1: Visit Nova Scotia’s official website and create an account there
Step 2: Fill out the nomination form and upload the necessary documents
Step 3: Submit the application once you have filled out completely
Step 4: If you are nominated, you may request the NSNP to issue you a Letter of Support for a work permit. This permit will allow you to work in Nova Scotia while your Canada PR application is in process.
Step 5: Once you have been nominated, apply for Canadian permanent residency visa to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Step 6: After arriving in Canada as a PR, notify NSNP of the same within 30 days. To notify the provincial government of Nova Scotia of your arrival, you need to send them documents:
- Copy of COPR
- Copy of passport
- Current address
- Phone number

NSNP aims to process most of the nomination applications submitted via Critical Construction Worker Pilot stream within 6 months. However, there may still be some applications that can take a bit longer to be processed.
