IRCC Announces Immigration Plans
Canada announced its Immigration Levels Plan 2024 – 2026. The overall PR targets remain unchanged for 2024 and 2025, new info was for 2026.
Canada is still planning on granting about 485,000 permanent residents in 2024. For 2025 and 2026 immigration targets, Canada will grant permanent residence to 500,000 immigrants.
Actually, the immigration targets remain the same for 2025 and 2026. This is because the country is looking for ways to promote sustainable immigration.
Apart from sustainability, Canada also has to keep in mind housing, infrastructure, and other needs of the growing population. Hence, the immigration targets are good as it is, and only slight changes are made in the numbers.
These PRs will come from various immigration pathways, such as Express Entry, Provincial Nominee Programs, Refugees and Protected persons category, and humanitarian programs.
The new Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2024 – 2026 will keep in focus family reunification, economic growth of Canada while also responding to humanitarian needs. Along with these focus points, the new immigration targets will also aim to increase francophone immigration outside Quebec.
