1. Agricultural Representatives, Consultants and Specialists (21112)

The agricultural representatives, consultants and specialists are individuals responsible to advocate and provide assistance to farmers. Their knowledge covers all criteria regarding agriculture. For instance, they give advice about cultivation, disease prevention, farm management, harvesting, marketing, etc. 

Employment Requirements:

Meeting the following general requirements might get you a job in any one of the above mentioned job positions,:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in agriculture (in a related field)
• Either be eligible for a membership or be a member in a provincial agrology institute
• If you wish to work in Quebec, be a member of Ordre professional des agronomes

2. Agricultural and Fish Products Inspectors (22111)

The agricultural and fish products inspectors make sure that during the production, storage and transportation of agricultural and fish products, all standards are met. 

Employment Requirements:

The above job positions require an applicant to meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Studied secondary school
• Government inspectors may require a bachelor’s degree in – agriculture, chemistry, biology, food processing technology or a related field
• Inspectors (non-government) require a bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Adequate experience in agricultural production/fish processing 
• Must have completed in-house training courses 

3. Agricultural Service Contractors and Farm Supervisors (82030)

The agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors provide services such as:

• crop planting
• poultry breeding
• harvesting
• soil preparation
• crop spraying
• cultivating 

Employment Requirements:

Follow the below requirements to get one of the jobs as mentioned above:

• Complete a course or get a certificate in first aid (optional)
• Agricultural service contractors require- university degree/college diploma/industry courses (in a related field). They also require many years of work experience. 
• Contractors require- training certificates, provincial licensing (optional)
• Farm supervisors require- college certificate, specialized training in related field 

4. Managers in Agriculture (80020)

Agricultural managers are responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and evaluating the operations of the farm. 

Employment Requirements:

To qualify for one of the above mentioned jobs, meet the following requirements:

• Have extensive experience, which must be obtained as a farm supervisor/specialized crop worker, or while working on a farm
• A degree/diploma in agricultural management or related field
